The Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician is a nationally recognised AQF Level 3 qualification and is the formal training required to work toward an A-Grade electrical licence. Because electrical licensing demands extensive supervised hours, the structured course typically takes around 12 months or more of full-time study, with significant time spent in workshops and on supervised placements.
Indicative tuition for international students commonly falls in the AUD 8,000 to 18,000 range for the qualification, although electrical programs can sit at the higher end given the equipment and safety requirements involved, and figures vary by provider and location. Most providers offer several intakes a year, commonly around February, April or May, July and October.
These figures are indicative and change over time. It is also worth noting that becoming a fully licensed electrician involves additional licensing steps beyond the qualification.
