Hands-on training in simulated construction environments is central to the program. You will complete practical assessments as you progress, developing speed, accuracy, and the professional finish required by Australian employers.
The course leads to a Certificate III in Bricklaying/Blocklaying - a nationally recognised trade qualification under the AQF.
Graduates work on residential and commercial construction sites, restoration projects, and landscaping as bricklayers, blocklayers, and stonemasons.

Bricklaying leads to a Certificate III in Bricklaying/Blocklaying, a nationally recognised AQF Level 3 trade qualification. Most providers deliver it over roughly 6 to 12 months of full-time study depending on how the simulated construction training and practical assessments are scheduled. Indicative tuition for international students commonly sits between AUD 8,000 and 18,000 for the full course, varying by provider and location.
Several intakes are usually offered each year, often around February, April or May, July and October, so there are regular opportunities to start. Hands-on training spaces can be limited, which makes it worth securing your place ahead of time.

After earning your Certificate III in Bricklaying/Blocklaying, the typical journey is to gain Australian site experience, applying where eligible for a Temporary Graduate visa (subclass 485) to keep working on the tools while you build the evidence many skilled visas require.
As the course explains, bricklaying is listed on multiple state skilled occupation lists, so the realistic pathway is state nomination through a subclass 190 permanent visa or a subclass 491 regional provisional visa.
