Applying for a Further Student Visa
If you wish to continue studying in Australia, enrolling in a new CRICOS-registered course and applying for a further Subclass 500 student visa is the most straightforward pathway. To be eligible:
You must enrol in a genuine new course that represents a logical next step in your education
You must apply for the new visa before your current visa expires
You must meet all the standard student visa requirements (English, finances, OSHC, Genuine Student statement)
The Genuine Student requirement is applied carefully in this context. Your Genuine Student statement must explain why you wish to continue studying in Australia at this point in your journey and how the new course connects to your educational and career goals.
